Balanced and Slim Upper Body Silhouette

01 Upper body obesity
often accompanies enlarged breasts

When it comes to upper body obesity, we commonly think of the abdomen or the waist. However, accumulated fat in the abdomen and the waist naturally accompanies enlarged breasts. As the obesity worsens, the breasts become more enlarged, causing various health issues such as eczema underneath the breasts or spinal illness.

Therefore, upper body obesity should be treated along with the enlarged breasts and an overall slim and balanced figure should be pursued.

Dual-Slim : it’s effective because it’s BANOBAGI

02 Our patients can choose the breast reduction type that fits their goals

Breast reduction surgery comes in four types: each with advantages and disadvantages.

It is important to receive sufficient consultation beforehand and to make the right decision as to which surgery you should receive.

  • Breast reduction through areolar incision

This method accesses the in-breast tissues through an incision around the areola, and is possible unless the breasts are too large. The areolar incision leaves a minimally noticeable scar, and the procedure mostly does not hinder the function of the breast.

  • Breast reduction through vertical incision

A vertical incision accesses the breast tissues through a 4 to 5cm long incision going down from the areola. This strikes the balance between the “오-shaped” incision technique and the areolar incision: it is available for relatively larger breasts but has less scarring than the “오-shaped” incision. It allows for a relatively swift operation, which results in quicker recovery and easier breast-shaping. The downside is some scarring.

  • Breast reduction through “오-shaped” incision

This is the most common method of breast reduction, and is available for almost every case (e.g. very heavy breasts, sagging breasts, etc.) The results can be predicted with ease, and the procedure comes with no loss of sensation in the areola—which can also be moved during the procedure. However, scarring may occur under the breast and the areola: those who greatly wish to avoid scarring must look elsewhere.

  • Breast reduction through liposuction

This method reduces the breast size by removing the fat within the breast. In case of enlarged breasts due to overall obesity, the breasts have high volume of fat tissues and liposuction can be very effective. The procedure takes little time and scarring is not a big concern; making liposuction an attractive option for those patients who fear scarring. However, if the skin has stretched out too much due to the size of the breast, the procedure may leave the breast to sag.

03 Abdominal obesity affects everyone differently, depending on the individual’s unique bodily features.

Key areas for Dual-Slim
  • Lower abdomen

A common form of abdominal obesity. Treatment aims at reducing a large volume of fat, but the procedure requires careful planning to prevent sagging.

  • Sides(lovehandle)

A slim figure, seen from the front, depends on the waist. For women, a curvy design to accentuate the patient’s feminine form is the key.

  • Waist

Old fat cells accumulate in the waist, and because they are difficult to get rid of once set, a comprehensive liposuction along with the sides is necessary.
