BANOBAGI NOSE SURGERY
The nose tip creates the most depth in the face: a small improvement can change your image
The nose tip is the center of the nose where the bridge, alars, and the septum meet: it is the highest and the most noticeable point in the nose. Therefore, even though it is a small area, its shape can change your personal image. The most ideal nose tip is located at the center of the nose and rises naturally, according to the nose’s height, almost hiding the nasal septum.
However, most Asian patients have thick nose tip and less cartilage. This blunts the nose tip and makes it appear lower or pointed downward, creating an unsophisticated look. In such cases, nose tip plasty can adjust the nose tip height and shape, creating a trendier and sharper image.

Ideal Nose Tip Location and Proportions
More effective reshaping by selecting the surgical method that fits your individual nose tip shape
Nose comes in all shapes and forms, and its structure consists of a very complex set of tissues. For successful nose surgery, the priority must be on finding the optimal surgical method for the individual: through sufficient consultation and precise diagnosis. By the same token, nose tip surgery must vary depending on the patient’s conditions.
BANOBAGI categorizes nose tip surgery cases into two types: where the nose tip has some shape and where the nose tip is spread widely. We also adjust our surgical approach depending on the shape of the surrounding area to provide more satisfying nose tip surgery.
Case in which the nose tip has some shape
This does not require large surgery. Autologous cartilage (e.g., nasal septal cartilage*, ear cartilage*) is shaped into a shield-like form or a diamond-like form and is fixed onto an area that fits the design. Raising the nose tip can awkwardly raise the nose height, so accompanying the nose tip surgery with nose bridge–raising surgery can create more satisfying results.
-
Nasal Septal Cartilage*
Nasal septal cartilage is located inside the nostrils and underneath the nasal bone, in the shape of a tunnel. Cartilage extraction happens from the inside while maintaining the bone structure: there is almost no damage to the nose’s physiological and functional aspects, and it can sometimes even improve breathing. Because the cartilage makes it easy to shape the nose tip while being flat and hard, it can be used to create additional support for the nose tip as well.
-
Ear Cartilage*
Ear cartilage has compatible shape and traits to be used for the nose tip, and cartilage from the indented area next to the auditory canal is commonly used. Because extraction leaves almost no trace, and there is a plentiful amount to be found, it can be used in layers in the nose tip. In addition, harvesting the dermis and fat tissues around the cartilage can add opaqueness to the nose tip.
Case in which the nose tip is spread widely
If the nose tip is spread widely, it often means that the nose has little height and is weak: grafting autologous cartilage does not provide great results. Therefore, the nose must be additionally shaped by focusing on the surrounding cartilages and narrowing the alar width. Moreover, if the heightened nose tip is given more support by transplanting autologous cartilage into the nasal septum, the nose height and shape can be maintained more stably.
Increased safety and satisfaction by borrowing the natural shape
The Caucasian nose is generally highly risen with a well-developed nose tip. If examined carefully, it gives a glimpse of a diamond-shaped cartilage, which means that the most natural nose tip cartilage shape for a sharp nose is that of a diamond.
BANOBAGI utilizes this natural design and shapes the nose tip surgery material into a diamond or a shield. This makes our surgery more natural-looking and stable.
In addition, our choice for implant material is autologous cartilage (e.g., nasal septal cartilage*, ear cartilage*): we can provide a more satisfying nose tip reshaping without psychological aversion or complications.

Subtle difference in the nasal septum decides your profile
Nasal septum is the part that supports the nose tip like a pillar in between the nostrils, when seen from underneath. Because it is not a very noticeable area, most people do not consider plastic surgery here. However, the nasal septum is unexpectedly one of the sources of dissatisfaction about one’s nose or profile. For example, the septum can either be pulled inward, creating an indentation, or be pushed outward, overly exposing the inner wall and the nostrils.

Alar plasty is a relatively simple yet effective method of improvement
In general, an ideal alar width is identical to the distance between the eyes. If the alars have developed beyond it, a relatively simple alar reshaping that makes small incisions—inside the nostril and in the inner alar—and reattaching the area can reduce the width.
Because alar plasty makes incisions inside the nostrils, it leaves almost no scarring afterward. The nostrils are focused into small shapes of eggs, creating a trendy and sharp look in the nose, as if you have received nose tip surgery.

Alar width can be narrowed down to accentuate the nose tip
Because the human body proportions are relative, wide alar width can relatively reduce and sharpness in the nose tip. Therefore, if the nose tip is not very noticeable despite a sufficiently developed nose tip, alar reshaping may be considered. As the width reduces, the nose tip becomes emphasized, creating a trendy and sharp look.
Even with the nose tip of a given height and a given location, the alar width can make the nose tip appear lower or blunter.
